Update 4 November 2026 – here's what's new

Last time we announced four things. Three of them are already here, and a lot more has been added. The Android app is coming soon.

What's new?

🌍 Planted in three languages. Planted is now available in Dutch, English and French: the whole site, the emails and the news. Choose your language in the menu at the top right. When you write a blog, you pick the language yourself, and you can filter blogs by the languages you read.

📱 Planted as an app. You can install Planted as an app on your phone or computer and get notifications as push messages, even when the site isn't open. The Android app on Google Play is coming soon.

🪴 Keep track of your plants. Every plant in your collection can now have one or more specimens, each with its own label, quantity, status and parent plants. Around them, you can keep track of:

• Places: where each specimen lives, from windowsill to greenhouse, with measurements such as temperature and humidity.
• Pot and medium: when you repotted, in which pot and in which mix.
• Care log: watering, fertilising, pests and diseases, all on a timeline per specimen.
• Schedules: watering and fertilising schedules per specimen, with a rest period. The "To do" page shows what's due today, and you tick it off there.
• Reminders: a daily reminder through the bell, a push message or an email. You set them up in your profile.

📓 Journals. Follow how a specimen grows with entries and photos. If you make a journal public, it appears on your profile and on the plant's page.

🥕 The garden. Turn an outdoor spot or a greenhouse into a garden with beds. You lay out the beds per season, plan when to sow, plant out and harvest each crop, and keep track of how much you've harvested. Next year, you copy the layout with one click.

❓ Help. Under "Help" in the menu you'll find guides with step-by-step explanations and screenshots. Many pages have a "?" that takes you straight to the right guide.

🔒 Privacy. You can download all your data and delete your account yourself, choosing what happens to your photos. Photos you upload no longer contain a GPS location, and neither do the photos that were already there. The privacy policy has been updated and describes exactly what we keep.

✨ Smaller improvements. Long dropdown lists now have a search field, and the menu and cards work better on phones. Know someone who'd like to try Planted? As long as there are places available, a new request gets a beta key by email right away.

About the outage on 2 November

On 2 November, Planted was unreachable for a while. The part that prepared pages for visitors and search engines used too much memory and brought the server to a halt. We've replaced it with a lighter solution, which also makes pages load faster for anyone who isn't logged in. Sorry for the inconvenience.
